“Takin’ A Break From Sex”

“Takin’ A Break From Sex”

Veteran performers Andy and Joleen Mullins have taken, marriage, friendship, mid-life crisis, and absurdities of relationships and have written them into original comedic sketches, emphasizing that opposite sex perceptions are a myriad of crazy conversations and hilarious situations.

Both have numerous credits in film, television, commercials, and theatre. Joleen is witty, funny, bubbly and – of course – sexy; Andy will convulse you with his many impersonations, facial expressions, quirky jokes, and amazing sense of humor. This is one of the most unique musical acts in the area. Specializing in the music of the mid 1920s through the mid 1930s, the Slingers’ music is akin to that of Paul Whiteman, Ted Weems, and The California Ramblers. Their repertoire includes one-steps, two-steps, waltzes, rhumbas, pasa doble, marches and, of course, fox trots (oriental and straight up). You’ll hear great songs like Lena From Palesteena, The Sheik of Araby, Bo-La-Bo, Rebecca Came Back From Mecca, and Old King Tut. Their music is upbeat, energetic and – most importantly – fun! Every age will enjoy it.

“Outride the Devil, A Morning With Doc Holliday”

“Outride the Devil”

You have a year to live. What are you going to do? Travel? Drink better wine? In 1872 John Henry Holliday was given a year to live. He became a legend.

Other rough and ready men and women from the days of the “Old West” are remembered only by history buffs, and perhaps Doc’s story would have faded as well had he not walked toward the O.K. Corral on the 26th of October 1881 with Virgil, Morgan and Wyatt Earp. Adding that classic gunfight in Tombstone to an already dramatic life story resulted in a tale that endures.

This dynamic one-man show, written and performed by well-known local actor Kit Hussey, presents a consistent, historically viable, and entertaining character. Some of what you will see in the show is dramatization, some is legend, some is history. The rest is fact.

Incidentally, here’s what some of the critics have said:
“Hussey’s Doc Holliday…deserves to stand beside Hal Holbrook’s Mark Twain and James Whitmore’s Harry S. Truman… It is magnificent” – Love Those Westerns, www.b-scared.com
“Outride the Devil is…a wildly entertaining, brilliantly conceived and vigorously produced celebration of what the Wild West was really about. And Hussey…gives the performance of a lifetime…” – Phil Hall, www.filmthreat.com
“The popular Arlington actor may well own the definitive portrayal of the dentist turned gambler and gunfighter…” – Perry Stewart, Fort Worth Star Telegram

Hussey’s work impressed us so much that we scheduled it for two of our mid-week specials –

October 20 (Tuesday)

October 27 (Tuesday)
