Some Frequently Asked Questions
We welcome any other questions you may have. Please be as specific as you can. Sending us a note saying "Need more information" tells us nothing, and it may be a lot longer before we get back to you.
Let's work together to solve the problems that confront us all.
FAQ's
The entire concept behind WTP is that for every project we decide to initiate, we can accomplish our goals only if we follow through with doing what we decide needs to be done. In order to do that, we will follow a consistant procedure for each project.
A bulletin board attached to each project will act as a sign-up sheet for the project, and announce the times for those wishing to be involved to gather, most likely on-line, to plan out exactly what the project's goals are, brainstorm on how it could be carried out, and break down the project into the individual steps that will be necessary for the project to be a success. A Team Leader will be chosen, who will be in charge of keeping the project organized. WTP will assist them by acting as their Head Office, keeping track of the projects progress, who is involved, which companies are interested in sponsoring it, and generally offering all the office support they need to carry it out. An important part of the success of any project depends on getting people to know about it in the first place. WTP has many ideas on how to do that. Just ask us!
As more and more people get to know about We The People... and our efforts in the community, it will become easier for us to accomplish our goals. We will be an established entity as far as enlisting volunteers and interns, finding corporate sponsors for non-profit projects, and possibly most important, working with the government, from the local level up to any necessary federal level representatives that would be involved in any of our cooperative efforts. That's really what our 'Representatives' are there for; to represent us and work with the people towards the good of the whole. It's not supposed to be us against them, but rather us working together. We are supposed to be sharing the common goal of wanting what's best for our country, and our world. Better education, safer streets, financial security, peace and good health are things that everyone wishes for. We believe the time for idle wishing is past, and the time to do what it takes to accomplish those goals is here. All it takes is the heart and the determination to do it. We The People... is for people who are at least willing to try.
Getting added to our mailing list is easy. Just drop us a note at:
paladin@dallas.net saying something to the effect of "Please add me to WTP's mailing list!". Don't forget to include your address, e-mail and snailmail, so we may send you our literature as it comes out. A phone number is optional, but very helpful
. If you do include it, please include the area code. Let us know what aspect of WTP interests you. This will help us send you more specific information besides just our general mailings.
To get involved in one of our community, national, or world service projects, first go to WTP's Projects List, to find one that interests you. This is important since we would only want you to get involved in something that you
cared greatly about. Otherwise, you won't enjoy doing it, and there would be no point. Find the project's Bulletin Board, and see what's been going on with the project up to now, who is the Team Leader, and when and where they meet (usually on-line in
a special room). If the project grabs your interest, or even if you just want more information about it, write to the Team Leader, (unless they've delegated mail elsewhere). You'll be welcomed aboard and brought up to speed as to where the project is so far. If the project is new, or just coming out in your area, you may even be asked if you would be interested in being a Team Leader there.
If you would be interested in getting a chapter of We The People... started near you, we will be more than happy to help you get it set up. In fact, expanding our doors is exactly what we're looking to do. As more and more people get to know about We The People... and our efforts in the community, it will become easier for us to accomplish our goals, because the people, companies, and government officials we will be working with will be more familiar with our organization, and more wi
lling to help.
The Team Leader is the person, and sometimes person(s), that makes sure that whatever plan was set forth to accomplish a task, is followed through with. For example, if they were the Team Leader of a public service commercial project, they would have to
coordinate with local TV studios trying to get time as inexpensively as possible(and we'll show you how sometimes you can get advertising time free if you shop around), possibly work with college interns willing to act as crew, the sponcers of the project, the talent, and so on. Of course, we would be there to help them organize it, but they would be in charge. It is a great responsibility, even for a simple project, but very rewarding.
Being a Non-Profit group does not mean, there is no money! Certain positions within our group pay, and as we expand, there will be more of them. However, until we have sufficient revenues coming in from sponcors and other fund raising, to cover our costs, we are somewhat limited on how much we can pay in salaries. Some positions that are paying immediately:
- Sponsor Finders - 10% commission on any sponsors you bring in.
- Advertising Sales - 10-20% commission on ad space sold.
Other Benefits
- Tax Write Off - once the IRS declares us Non-Profit, sponcoring our cause will be Tax-Deductible, and we'll look into whether any time put in can be written off as well.
- Excellent Experience! - Especially if you're working for us as an Intern or a Volunteer, the experience you get from WTP can be an immeasurable asset to your career, should your career end up being away from WTP!
- Meet New People - Getting involved in your community allows you to interact with neighbors you didn't know you had, make new friendships, and know new joys.
- Make The Difference! - When you work towards making a difference in your own community, you can take pride in knowing that you did your part to make this world a little brighter, no matter how small a step it was. Those steps add up. From all of us. Together, they do make a difference!
