In the Name of God Amen, I Hugh Muldrow being sick of Body but of sound & disposing mind and recollecting that all must die, do constitute and ordain this my last will and testament. In the first place I commit my soul to God who gave it & consign my body to the dust whence it came in hopes of a glorious resurrection through the merits of a gracious Redeemer __Item___ I direct that my body be decently interred & that after defraying the funeral expenses & paying all my just debts, that my estate be distributed as follows viz I will that the tract of land on which I now (live) reside be purchased by my son George at Thirty dollars per acre if he be willing & in not, by either of my sons-in-law payable in one, two, and three equal annual payments -- if they be unwilling then the same to be sold at public sale & the proceeds thereof except as may herein be otherwise disposed of, be equally divided among all my children, the children of my deceased daughter Sarah J. Elliot to have one share. Item. I will that the sahre of my daughter Mary Filson of my whole estate be in trustee to the management of my son-in-law William Stephenson who shall pay over to her fifty dollars thereof per annum & loan the residue at Six per cent p annum (not however responsible for any lofs which may accrue upon such loan) & the residue if any to be subject to her own disposal at her death. Item I will that my slaves Leander & Catherine, upon my death be emancipated & receive of my Ex'ors Ten dollars Pr. Annum each, by reserving out of my estate so much money as will at Six per cent per an. yield these sums during their natural life: -- Item I will to Leander, my old saddle, an axe & hoe and to Catherine an old Side Saddle, wheel, reel, pot & hoe. Item I will that the whole of my personal estate, except what is herein otherwise distributed, be sold & the proceeds therof be equally divided among my children (my daughter Sarah J. Elliot's children enjoying one equal share). Item I will that my son George F. Muldrow & my son-in-law William Stephenson, be as they are hereby appointed my ex'tors, to carry into effect the the Will & Testament aforesaid. Given under my hand this Eight day of August in the year of our Lord 1834.

This Writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Hugh Muldrow decd was produced in open Court & proved by the oath of Geo. N. Wheeler a subscribing witness thereto who also proven that Chas. C. Frazer the other subscribing witness subscribed his name to said Will at the requirement of Testator which (account ends...)
