additional about Pat McManus: "He originally enlisted in the 145th NY,
at age 44 on July 29 1862. The 14th, Officerd by probably thr worst bunch
of scallawags, was disbanded on 31 December 1863. The officers were cashiered,
but the enlisted men were transferred to serve out their enlistments! On 4
January McManus (among a large group of other 145th fellas) was
transferred to the 150th. He served in Company D, and was wounded at the
Battle of Kolb's Farm, near Kenesaw GA on 22 June 1864. He was
subsequently transferred to the 124th Co 2Nd Battalion Veteran's Reserve
Corps (His injuries left him fit for service, but unfit for field duty,
so he was sent to the VRC as were many men who were still good
soldiers). He mustered out June 29,1865 @ Camp Chase Ohio. Quite a
varied career!" Thanks to P. Bedrossian
