I take no responsibility for the accuracy of information in these queries.
But if we are able to link them together into a giant family tree that would
be pretty neat.--mkm

I am looking for ancestors, siblings of James Alexander McManus, born Oct. 1859, Chesterfield Co., SC. Married Mary Rollings (or Rallings), b. Nov.1869 NC. Her father was Samuel Doctor "Dock" Rollings, b. Nov. l845, Chesterfield Co., and Married to Zelphia parker, b.Jan 1846 SC.
James Alexander and Mary Rollings had children: William Rustin McManus; Delia, Robert Houston, Nezzie, and Rhetta (all born in SC).
Both James and Mary are buried in White Plains Batist church Cemetary in Jefferson, SC, county of Chesterfield. Family anecdotal history said he had 2 uncles who left for Texas after the civil war. Specifically, would like to know names of parents, etc.
I specifically am seeking info on James Alexander McManus.

I am looking for info on my father's side. James Alexander McManus, resided, at least the latter half of his life, near Chesterfield, SC. Supposed to have gone by the sobriquet of "Black Jack"; no idea of origins, just rode up up one day; supposed to have have had two brothers who went to Texas at some unspecified earlier date, plus we don't know their names; interestingly, "Houston" has been a popular middle name for a few generations.

I'd like to share notes on ancestors Uriah A. Mcmanus and Exie Williams McManus. They are laid to rest in Pageland, SC. Pageland is in Chesterfield County but on the border of Lancaster County is where the cemetary is. They attended church at Union Hill Baptist Church and that is where the cemetary is. I understand that the land was donated by a Mary McManus and then more later by James Monroe McManus. Theodocia and Jermaine were two of James' sisters as well as 21 other siblings raised by Uriah A McManus!
-patti2@shtc.netAny more on these folks???
