13, 1899, at Fall River, Mass.  Res. Kingston, R.I. Grad from
Textile School at Fall River; Brown Univ. PhB. 1921, Sc.M.
1922, PhD 1923. U.S. Bureau of Fisheries 1922-27 (asso.
hydrobiologist three years); Director Buffalo Museum of Science
1927-34; R.I. State College from 1934 (head of Zoology dept.
since 1938).  He was oceanographer on Arcturus Exped., 1925,
and internatl. Bahama Exped., 1930, also mem. com. on oceanography
at Chicago Expos., 1933; directed surveys of Mass. Bay
and Grand Banks, 1924-25, Lake Erie, 1928-29, Gulf of Maine,
1929-30, also Narragansett Bay, 1935-36; member of Council,
Princeton Summer Sch. of Geology, also governor's adv. council
on fish and game, since 1939; mem. scientific mon. U.S. Fisheries
and Game Assn., 1929-30, exec. secy. and biologist, Internatl.
Passamaquoddy Fisheriesn Comm., 1931-32; mem. of corp., Bermuda
Biol. Sta. 1932-35, and (1941) Director, also Director Narragansett

          PARDON, CALEB,AND ABNER FISH, brothers
             Veterans of the Revolution

  These three brothers must have been of the Tiverton, RI 
Branch of the fmaily as many of the Tiverton branch settled in
Amenia, NY and at Obling, Dutchess Co., NY.  They 
were also born at Tiverton.  They must have been sons of (598)
William6 or (591) Thomas6 Fish.

670 PARDON FISH was b. at Tiverton, R.I., in 1751. On May 1,
1175, while a resident of Nine Partners, Dutchess Co., N.Y., he
enlisted in Col. Graham's Regiment; was a member of several
other organizations.  While in Capt. James Tallmadge's Company
he was present at the surrender of Burgoyne. In 1779 he 
moved to Saratoga (on the Hudson), N.Y., and while there
enlisted again, in the fall of 1781, in Col. Rogers' Regiment.
About 1806 he moved from Saratoga to Lucerne Co., later called
Susquehanna Co., Pa. On Sept. 10, 1832, while living at Springville
Twp., Susquehanna Co., his pension No. S.22769 was allowed.
His wife Rhoda d. there Dec. 26, 1830, at age 80.

671 CALEB FISH was b. at Tiverton, in 1752.  He moved to
Nine Partners, Duchess Co., N.Y., where he enlisted, and served
wiht the New York troops in the Revolution.  From Nine Partners
he moved to Catskill, N.Y., then to Saratoga, and to Westport,
Essex Co., N.Y., where he lived 20 years, then moved to
Greenfield, Saratoga Co., where he allowed his pension No.
S.23633. He m. Deborah Fish Feb. 13, 1771, at Bangall, Duchess
Co.

        The Nine Partners' Patent embraced the present New York towns of
Clinton, Pleasant Valley, Stanford and Washington except a small strip along
the north border of Clinton and Stanford, that portion of Hyde Park south
and east of Crum Elbow Creek, and Amenia, and the southern part of North
East, except the Oblong.

672 ABNER FISH, the third brother, was living in Westport
in 1833.

581 JONATHAN5 FISH (Robert4, Thomas3, Alice2, John1), son of
(100) Robert and Mary (Hall) Fish, was b. at Portsmouth, R.I.,
Oct. 27, 1704; m. May 26, 1726, Michael Rhodes.  

Children (born at Portsmouth):
    674 Isaac6, b.Feb 2, 1726/27.
    675 William, b. July 24, 1728.
    676 Robert; b. Dec. 28, 1731.
  + 677 Jonathan; b.1732; d. abt. 1805; m. Sept. 13, 1758, Ann Child; m.

    679 Martha, b. Dec. 4, 1740.

677 JONATHAN6 FISH (Jonathan5, Robert4, Thomas3, Alice2,
John1).  Nothing further is definitely known concerning this
Jonathan, but he may have been the Jonathan Fish who in 1801
became one of the "Original Tenants of Rensselaerville, N.Y."
