Fish, was b. Tiverton, R.I., about 1770; m. Wealthy Lake,
who was b. in 1773, and d. Aug 11, 1841, at the home of her son
John. (Cora (Fish)10 Hunt is of the opinion that she was the dau.
of Noah adn Wealthy LAke.) He carried on his father's farm;
was injured there while lifting a stone with an iron bar, this
injury resulting in his death. By will, dated Apr 10, 1832, he
gave part of the Fish farm to his John.

610 JOHN SHRIEVE8 FISH (John7, William6, William5, Robert4,
Thomas3, Alice2, John1), son of (605) John and Wealthy (Lake)
Fish, was b. at Tiverton, R.I., in Sept. 1799. He d. July 15,
1868, near Fall River, Mass., was drowned in some manner
not known to the author. He was a farmer, also taught oenmanship;
given as "yeoman" on his death certificate. He was
listed in the Fall River Directory of 1853 as, John S. Fish, gardener,
33 Fourth St. Tiverton (that part now Fall River, the
boundary having changed severak times). Before his second
marriage he built his house, from Hand-hewn timbers originally
made for a church; this was on the old original Fish farm, where
he remained until his death.
He m. May 25, 1823, Sarah Manchester, dau. of Esek Manchester;
m. (2) Mar. 10, 1836, Sarah B. Crosby, dau. of John
Luce and Eliza (Pearce) Crosby. She was b. Feb. 18, 1819, at
Little Compton, R.I.; d. Mar. 26, 1900, at Fall River, and was
buried in Oak Grove Cemetery. She was descended from John
and Priscilla Alden, through their eldest dau. Elizabeth, who m.
William Pabodie. (Rev. Joseph5 Fish of the Nathaniel3 line m.
Rebecca, eldest dau. of William and Elizabeth Pabodie.) Through
her mother, Eliza (Pearce) Crosby, and grandmother, Susanna
Stoddard, who m. Isaac Pearce, she was also descended from
Ann Hutchinson.

639 ANDREW JACKSON9 FISH (John S. 8, John7, William6,
William5, Robert4, Thomas3, Alice2, John1), rose fancier, son of (610)
John Shrieve and Sarah (Crosby) Fish, was b. June 3, 1852, at
Fall River, Mass., in a house on Fish Road located on property
purchased by an ancestor, Lieut. Robert4 Fish, in 1690. The
place was Indian territory then, and called Falling Water. The
Fish land was at one time located in Tiverton, but the boundary
line has changed several times. Andrew early learned the tailor's
trade; was emplyed for 38 years by the M.C. Swift's Co., at New
bedford, and in later life had his own tailoring establishment,
retiring in 1929 to devote his time to the growing of roses and the
study of genealogy. He traced his ancestry back to John and
Priscilla Alden, and could recall the days when New Bedford
was a great whaling-center, and knew many of the ship captains.
He introduced into this area the Silver Moon Rose, and has won
many medals and ribbons on roses at flower shows in Boston,
Providence, Newport, and other Eastern Cities; sold plants
