Auburn, NY; (1444c) Eunice, who m. Charles Doughty of
Michigan; and (1444d) William, of Missouri.

1370 AMBROSE6 FISH (David5, John4, John3, Alice2,John1),
son of (1361) David and Grace (Palmer) Fish, was b. Aug 21,
1737; d. at Ledyard, Conn., in Jan. 1806; m. Content Babcock.
Their son (1370 1/2) Ambrose7, who m. Prudence Williams, and
d. at Ledyard Apr. 1811, had (1370a) John8; and (1370b) Ambrose,
who m. Louise HAllarn, d. at sea about 1842, and had:
(1448) Ambrose H.9, who m. Mary E. Rogers; and had (1449) Allen
W., who d. July 6, 1831, at 21.

1363 JOHN5 FISH (John4, John3, Alice2,John1), son of (1356)
John and Margaret Fish, was bapt. at Stonington, Conn., Nov
8, 1696; m. July 19,1726 at Canterbury, Conn., Esther Johnson,
dau. of Obadiah and Rebecca (Brooks) Johnson. She was b.
Sept. 1, 1704; d. July 13, 1793.  He d. at Canterbury, at 86,
July 4, 1782.

Starr Jennings, who d. Apr. 4, 1860; m. (2) Mary L.R. Green.
He d. Feb. 13, 1897, at Old Point Comfort, VA; buried in Greenwood
Cemetary, Brooklyn.  Mary d. Feb 20, 1900.  He had one
son by Emily, William10 Jay.

4, 1860; m.(2) July 9, 1896, Mary Morgan, who was b. Apr.
18, 1866.  He d. suddenly at Watkins, N.Y., Oct 2, 1904; buried
at Cedar Lawn Cemetary, Passaic, N.J. Children: (1484) Emily
Morgan11, b. July 21, 1897; (1485) Louise Huntington, b. Feb.
5, 1889; and (1486) William Jay, b.May 10, 1903.

1457 DAVID6 FISH (John5, John4, John3, Alice2,John1), farmer
and colonist, son of (1363) John and Esther (Johnson) Fish,
was b.Oct 16, 1744, at Canterbury, Conn.  He m. Sybil Jennings
Oct 28, 1769. In the "History of Royalton," pp.15-21,
it is stated that David, Nathan and Joseph Fish were associates
of Comfort seaver in the Charter of Royalton, VT, being the
original grantees, Dec 21, 1781, and each of them receiving 100
acres.  He lived in District 6, and was elected deacon of the
Royalton Church in 1788.  He d. May 20, 1795, and his wife
Sybil m. Comfort Seaver and removed to Jefferson, NY, where
Comfort became guardian of Elijah and John Fish.

1458 JOSEPH6 FISH (John5, John4, John3, Alice2,John1),
son of (1363) John and Esther (Johnson) Fish, went to Royalton, VT,
where he was an orginal grantee with his brothers Nathan and

David.  In the Town Records of Ira, Vt., the home of Preserved7
Fish of the R.I. branch, is the record of his purchase of 200 acres
of land at Ira from William JOiner, Dec . 7, 1783.  His name is not
found in the Royalton records after 1787.  He served in Capt.
Joseph Parkhurst's Militia. 1790 Census gives a Joseph Fish
at Chittenden, Vt.  He migrated to New Hartford, NY, where
he d. leaving several sons and one daughter. He m. Olive Bacon
Jan 14, 1781 at Canterbury.

1360 CAPT. SAMUEL4 FISH, ESQ. (John3,Alice2,John1), youngest
son of (73) John and Mary (Ireland) Fish, was b. 1656.  His father
appeared at Mystic and Groton, Conn., in 1655, so presumably
he was b. at Mystic (others say New London). He was bapt. at
Stonnington, Conn., in 1680.  His estate, inherited from his father,
John3, was situated between the Mystic River and the northeastern
slope of Fort Hill.  Near the center of his lands was
Pequot Hill, on the northeastern slope of which, between the
present highway that runs parallel with it and the river, he
erected the house.  The old cellar, in the west end of the field belonging
to the late Russell Fish, Esq., may still be traced (1872)
by a depression in the earth.  He was a Capt. in the French and
Indian War (1676). He was admitted to the first church at Stonington
Apr. 18, 1689. His name appears in patent of New London
in 1704, the year prior to the incorporation of Groton.  He was
the second selectman at Groton on its organization and was re-elected
to this position for many years.  He m., about 1682/83,
Sarah Starke, who was b. 1660, dau. of Aaron Starke, Sr.  She d.
Dec 11, 1722, and he m.(2) Dorothy (Wheeler) Smith.  He d.
Feb 27, 1733.  He was a Representative to the Gen. Court of
Connecticut in 1706-07-08-12, a man of dignity and influence.
He lies in the old Packer Burying Ground at Groton.
