Mary (either Pease or Shepard).  In his will he mentions his
wife Mary Shepard, his grandson Franklyn Wright9 Fish, and
the children of his sister Ruth Austin, as living on the James
Austin farm on Sugar Creek in Kendall, Stuart Co., Ohio; also a
niece, Abigail Templeton, who lived on a farm in Wasington
Co., Vt.  On July 2, 1807, a removal certificate was issued by the
Quaker community of Flushing, LI, dismissing Mary, wife of
Preserved Fish, to New Bedford.
  He lived at No.87 Fourth Street, New York City.
  Having reared no children of his own he legally adopted William
Middleton, and named him William Middleton Fish.  He was b.
in 1812; d. in 1840, at the early age of 28.  He m. Oct 29, 1832,
Lydia Ann Franklin, and had: (896) Franklyn9 Wright, b.July
8, 1833.

896 FRANKLYN WRIGHT9 FISH (William8 (Middleton, adopted
son of Preserved7), Isaac6, David5, Robert4, Thomas3,
Alice2, John1), was b. July 8, 1833, in New York city, the only son of
William (Middleton) and Ann (Franklin) Fish. (William Middleton
was legally adopted by Preserved7 Fish of New York Coty,
New Bedford and Providence.) Franklyn m. Fanny Smith, in
1854; m. (2) Susan Biddle, in 1871.

895 RUTH7 FISH (Isaac6, David5, Robert4, Thomas3,
Alice2, John1), only dau. of (839) Isaac and Ruth (Grinnell) Fish,
was b. at Dartmouth, Mass., about 1768.  On Nov. 11, 1787, she
m. James Austin, son of Jeremiah and Jemima (Tallman) Austin.
In 1808 they were living at Ferrisburg, Vt.  Children (Austin):
(895a) Hannah8, (895b) Dorcas, (895c) Patience, (895d) Abigail,
(895e) Isaac, and (895f) Jeremiah.
  Ruth probably lived on a farm on Sugar Creek in Kendall,
Stark Co, Ohio, in 1846, when her brother Preserved willed that
farm to her children, after her death, and her husband deid there.
It seems, however, that some of the children remained in Vermont
as he willed a farm at Worchester, Washington Co., Vt.,
to her dau. Abigail (Templeton).

846 PATIENCE6 (FISH) AUSTIN (David5, Robert4, Thomas3,
Alice2, John1), youngest of the sixteen children of (583) David
and Jemima (Tallman) Fish, was. b. Apr. 13, 1753; d. Dec 29,
1831, age 78.  On Feb 26, 1783, she m. Jeremiah Austin, son of
Jeremiah and Margaret (Congdon) Austin of Rochester, Mass.,
who was a farmer there, on the part now called Mattapoisett.
About 1796 they moved to Little Compton, R.I., thence in 1808
to Ferrisburg, Vt., and afterwards to a farm in Nantucket, Mass.,
where he died.  He published a book, "Gospel Doctrine Vindicated."

was b. Jan 19, 1782, and d. July 8, 1850. Their dau., (920 1/2)
Eunice, m. John Allen McClure, Apr 7, 1830, and Miss Nancy
Hendy of Jefferson City, Mo., is her great-granddaughter.
