Structural Alignment at Dzibilchaltun, Yucatan - Detail

Structural Alignment at Dzibilchaltun At the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, the sun passes through the House of the Seven Dolls (Casa de Las Siete Moñecas) and aligns with the stela (upright stone) in the foreground of this image.  Other openings in the House of the Seven Dolls are positioned for the summer and winter solstices.

According to twentieth-century archaeologists, the House of the Seven Dolls required relatively little restoration.
