Welcome to the Talker Repeater Contoller (tm)  (TRC) web page!

The TRC is a PC-based controller utilizing a PC sound card and a PC running one of the prevalent and popular Windows operating systems.

Some of the key features of TRC include:

  1. -  MesoTalker(tm), Reads the NWS Storm Prediction Center's "Mesoscale Discussion page" and 'reads' the results vocally (with a synthesized voise) out over-the-air.
  2. -  TCP/IP Link (Voice over IP A/K/A "VoIP") to other Talker Repeater Controllers (an Echolink/IRLP work-alike that works peer to peer).
  3. -  Programmable Voice-record delay, allows users to hear the last x seconds of their own transmission and let them judge the quality of their own signal.
  4. -  RadarTalker(tm) inspects a designated area on a RADAR map and verbally summarizes the precipitation.
  5. -  A programmable InfoTalker(tm) feature allows any textual info on the web to be inspected for content and an over-the-air message to be developed.
  6. -  APRS-Talker(tm) feature allows messages directed to an APRS address specified by the repeater control operator to be vocalized over-the-air. This could include announcements for the regular monthly club meeting or urgent messages involving national security.
