About Brad Webb:

Brad Webb started his karate career in Springfield, Illinois under Doug Dennis studying Shudokan karate-do in 1981. He immediately took a liking to the system and teachers of the style, and was quickly training 6 days a week. Midway into 1982 Brad moved to Dallas, Texas and luckily found Alex and Susan Tong in Sept 1982. He has kept in contact with Doug Dennis over the years.

While Brad couldn't start studying Shotokan under Dr Tong until Jan 1983, he kept up self-training and was able to help start the UT-Dallas Karate Club in Sept 1982. He served as an officer over the years until he finished his Masters Degree in 1988. The same year Brad met Elizabeth Regnier. He still trains with the UTD club, and teaches when Dr Tong is traveling or unable to attend classes. Click here for a history of JKA Dallas.

Brad and Elizabeth were married in July 1990 and started Japan Shotokan Karate in August. The Dojo transfered to Campbell Green Rec Center in 2007 to allow Brad to focus more on his wife and twin girls.

He was part of the AAKF national team from 1993 to 2007 and has consistently placed in the top 4 nationally and the top eight internationally in various events. Click here for Brad Webb's Competitive results since 1993.

While competition is one goal, Brad is also working hard at expanding the karate world in Dallas. Thanks to his wife he has become a better teacher and uses his skills to teach and to help find others who want to learn Shotokan. Click Here for a list of students who have earned rank under Brad while at Japan Shotokan Karate.

Brad is also very active, internationally, nationally and regionally either attending or giving seminars. In 2007 he was promoted by Nishiyama Hidetaka to the rank of GoDan. Unfortunately Sensei died in Nov 2008. Brad tries to promote cooperation between the various schools in the southwest and the regions of AAKF.

People are more than welcome to call Brad at the Japan Shotokan Karate dojo(Currently located at the Campbell Green Rec Center), 972-231-4922, or email him at bwe962@airmail.net.
