2 WEEKS                    CONCEPTION

 

6-10 WEEKS              NEW OBSTETRICAL VISIT

 

10-12 WEEKS            HEARTBEAT BY DOPPLER BECOMES POSSIBLE

 

9-12 WEEKS              CHORIONIC VILLI SAMPLING (CVS) – optional, offered

                                    to patients 35 and older at delivery

 

11-14 WEEKS            1ST TRIMESTER GENETIC SCREENING for CHROMOSOMAL

ABNORMALITIES– optional

 

15-18 WEEKS            AMNIOCENTESIS FOR CHROMOSOME TESTING – optional,

                                    offered to patients 35 and older at delivery

 

16-18 WEEKS            REGISTER FOR CHILDBIRTH CLASSES, USUALLY TO BE

                                    TAKEN AT 28 to 32 WEEKS

 

18-20 WEEKS            SONOGRAM DONE (gender can usually be determined during

                                    this sonogram, if desired)

 

20 WEEKS                  INSURANCE DEPOSIT DUE TO DR. DULLYE’S OFFICE

 

20 WEEKS                  HOSPITAL PREADMISSION CARD DUE

 

24-28 WEEKS            BLOODWORK: gestational diabetes screen, blood count, and

antibody screen if Rh negative

 

28-30 WEEKS            OPPORTUNITY TO MEET DRS. FOGWELL & HUNT

 

35-36 WEEKS            GROUP B STREP VAGINAL CULTURE DONE, WEEKLY

                                    CERVICAL EXAMS BEGIN

 

40 WEEKS                  ESTIMATED DUE DATE (normal labor and delivery can occur

                                    any time from 37 to 41 weeks)
