Coastal Highway 1

Andrea and I went off on our own, determined to see the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey. We ate breakfast again at The Cliff House, and then headed down CH 1 towards Monterey.

The scenery was absolutely stunning. I had never been to a place with such amazing views.

About an hour down the road, we stopped at a public tide pool region and walked along the rocks of the tide pool in the rain, seeing all sorts of fascinating creatures in the water and on the rocks.

The rain helped us make haste at the tide pool, and we drove further down, stopping at a place where they raise orphaned sea lion pups to see if we would be able to take the tour that day. Unfortunately, there's an eight week waiting list to take the tour, and there were no cancellations
