Fact and Fiction
1) What is a Christian? It helps to think of Christians as people who try to be more like
Christ.
2) What must one believe to become a
Christian? God created us and although we sinned against him, he sent his perfect son
Jesus Christ to die to cleanse us of our sins, and make us worthy of his love. God raised
Jesus from the dead and he reigns with God in heaven today. If we simply believe that he
sent Jesus to die for us and accept him as master of our life we will spend eternity in
heaven!
5) Who was Jesus? Jesus said "Verily, verily I say unto you, he
that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall
not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24) Jesus
said he was the son of God sent to die on earth to forgive us for our sins so that we
might know God. Scripture written many years before predicted the coming of Jesus.
4) Why are we here on earth? God created the heavens, earth, and all the life in
it. He created us in his image to glorify his name. In the beginning, Adam and Eve sinned
and disobeyed God by the devil's trick. Since then sin has been in this world misleading
many. Christians spread the joy and news of Jesus Christ's death and forgivenness for our
sins so that all people can share eternity with God in heaven.
5) How can I accept Jesus Christ in my life and spend
eternity with God? Pray this prayer right now to God:
"Dear Jesus, I have sinned and need your forgiveness. I believe that you sent
your son, Jesus Christ, to die for me and be raised from the dead so that I might come to
know you. From this day forth through the power of your wonderful Holy Spirit,
I promise to live my life with you in my heart.
