Did you know that at the end of the Revolutionary War an epidemic of drunkenness, numerous anti-Christian clubs, and widespread violence threatened to destroy America?

America's moral recovery began in 1794 when Isaac Backus, a New England Baptist pastor, appealed to churches of all denominations to pray for spiritual awakening on the first Monday of each month. Christians began to fervently pray and God turned America around.

America needs extraordinary prayer today. That's why we're calling Christians to fast and pray on the first Monday of each month.

Program 2

Abraham Lincoln said, "We have forgotten God... we have become too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness."

America today is courting the severe judgment of God. Abortion, drug addiction, pornography, broken homes, drive-by shootings, and sex crimes abound.

Yet Christians can still wield the awesome power of humble prayer. That's why we're calling Christians to fast and pray on the first Monday of each month.

Program 3

America is struggling with a massive moral breakdown. However, there is hope. Read the book of Jonah in the Bible and take heart.

God sent Jonah to Ninevah with the warning, "Yet forty days and Ninevah shall be destroyed." The king ordered everyone in the city to seek divine mercy by fasting and praying. God heard their prayers and called off the destruction.

Fasting and prayer can turn America back to God today. That's why we're calling Christians to fast and pray on the first Monday of each month.

Program 4

In 1857 America was in a serious moral slump. Thousands were disillusioned with Christianity and churches were losing ground. America's moral and spiritual recovery began when Jeremiah Lanphier, a concerned layman, started a noon prayer meeting for New York businessmen.

Only six people came to the first prayer meeting on September 23, 1857. By mid-January attendance grew to 3,000 and eventually reached 10,000. Thousands where turning back to God.
