Mission Statement and Goals
of the Southwestern Region
American Amateur Karate Federation (AAKF)
The mission of the American Amateur Karate Federation (AAKF), Southwestern Region, is to promote the standards and practice of traditional karate in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
AAKF affiliate clubs are headed by senior instructors, whose ranks are certified internationally and sanctioned by the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF). Prospective instructors are required to have traditional karate training for no less than 3 years, and qualify in a rigorous certification process. This ensures that the ITKF instructor can provide the highest quality of instruction in JKA-Shotokan, Budokai, Goju-ryu, or other traditional karate styles.
Recognition of karate as an Olympic sport is forthcoming. AAKF, as the sole United States governing body within the International Traditional Karate Federation, will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of traditional karate practice and development of internationally competitive athletes.
For more information about AAKF-sanctioned traditional karate training, please contact a representative in your local area.
