About Silas Issa

Background: Born in Lebanon on June 24th, 1970 into a Christian home. My father was a Bank Auditor and my mother was a teacher then a homemaker. I immigrated to the United States when I was eight, going back and forth to Lebanon during my teenage years.

Salvation: On March 15th, 1983, I trusted the Lord as Savior while in Beirut, Lebanon. It has been a growing and challenging experience ever since.

Calling: The Lord burdened my heart to serve Him in a church related vocation when I was nineteen. However, my calling to serve Him as a Christian and a child of God was a conviction of mine ever since salvation. His specific calling to go to the foreign mission field was in January 1996 after seven years of ministerial training.

Qualification: The only thing that qualifies me to serve as a missionary is the GRACE of God. All the above has been made possible due to the mercies of the Lord. He saved me, called me, trained me, and sent me through His church.

Current Mission Endeavor: I'm currently serving the Lord in Melbourne, Australia reaching the Australians and other nationalities including Arabic speaking people. It is a multi-national ministry in two languages, Arabic and English. Melbourne has a population of three million with Buddhism, as its fastest growing religion while Islam is the second most growing religion. Agnosticism and confusion is the motto of the majority while few are Catholics, Greek Orthodox, or Protestants. Only 10% attend church of any kind. There are few that are preaching the gospel and many of the so-called "Baptists" don't believe in the virgin birth, miracles of the Bible, blood atonement, or even Biblical inspiration. The lost world lives in a state of insecurities, lack of love, and fear of the unknown. They need the Lord.
